London hotels throw eggs at each other.

Find this egg-tremely beautiful egg at the May Fair Hotel which you can bid for in aid of a good cause

Last week we wrote about how the two Jumeriah Hotels in London have a couple of Faberge Big Eggs on display as part of the big charity Egg Hunt taking place across London in the run-up to Easter.  Well now we’ve discovered a host of other central London hotels hiding some of the 200 eggs hidden around the city!

One such hotel is the May Fair Hotel which is housing  the ‘Queen of Prints’ – Mary Katrantzou’s Teflon Egg decorated with tiny metal flowers, Swarovski crystals, bells and whistles.  The so called “Man Meets Machine Meets Mother Earth” three-colour tiered Egg will be on display, although hidden somewhere at the hotel for 40 days and 40 nights.  We’re not surprised that the May Fair chose this fashionable egg – it goes great with the May Fair’s image as the official London Fashion Week hotel.

Something sheepish is going on at the Goring!

The Goring Hotel is also getting in on the action with the ‘Baaaaa-bara’ egg inspired by the hotel’s sheep foot stools and staff ties which feature The Goring’s sheep which featured in our best London hotel mascots post.

To coincide with the Big Egg Hunt, The Goring’s Head Chef has created an egg-tra special ‘Eggs Fabergé’ with smoked salmon, scrambled egg, lobster ragout, lobster sauce, poached quail egg & Sevruga caviar served in The Dining Room until Easter Sunday.

Here at London Hotels Insight, Busby is definitely our favorite easter egg. Look at his cute little moustache and freckles!

Over at Radisson Edwardian’s  Mercer Street Hotel which is one of the swankiest Covent Garden hotels, you’ll find ‘Busby’ - maybe my favourite Faberge Big Egg.  Busby looks like an iconic British guard, moustache and all!  He even has his own Twitter so you can stay updated with his daily activities.  To celebrate his arrival, they’ve created a menu featuring Egg Soldiers, Mini Scotch Eggs and a special Eggs Fabergé dish.  LHI blogger Andrea recently posted a review of The Mercer Street Hotel.

To see any of the eggs on display visit the hotels from now until Sunday 1st April 2012, or if you fancy taking one home you can bid for the eggs at auction now with all proceeds going to charity – egg-cellent!
