Turn tea into diamonds at Andaz Liverpool Street.

The gorgeous 1901 Restaurant at the Andaz, where you can now turn your afternoon tea into blinging diamonds!
The 5 star Andaz Liverpool Street is offering diners the chance to turn their afternoon Royal Tea into diamonds and no, I am not joking! The hotel is giving one lucky person who partakes in the Jubilee Afternoon Tea series running at the hotel between 1st February and 30th June a pair of rather expensive (£1,250) CARR diamond stud earrings.
The series of five afternoon teas will be served in the hotel’s quintessentially British restaurant 1901 (reviewed on this blog). Each tea is themed around a particular monarch’s reign. All the teas include the usual sandwiches and scones but each will come with a special twist. The first in the series kicked off in February and was themed around Queen Mary. March’s tea focuses on “The Virgin Queen” Queen Elizabeth I - so called due to the fact she never married. The tea pays homage to her American connections and features Pastrami and pickled gherkins, a mini burger, mini hot dog, fish tacos verde, chocolate brownie and peanut butter cookies.

April is themed around Queen Anne, May around Queen Victoria and June around Queen Elizabeth II. The winner of the diamonds will be drawn from a hat on 30th June 2012. The afternoon tea is available from Monday to Saturday the tea is priced at £45 per person, which is a little bit more expensive than some of the best value afternoon teas in London - but an absolute snip if you win the diamonds!
For those wanting to learn more about diamonds, Dominic Carr, representing the CARR Diamonds shop located in the hotel, will be hosting an Andaz Salon on Wednesday 24th May at 6pm. The event will teach guests how to choose the perfect diamond. Space is limited and reservations can be made my emailing [email protected].
