World Food themed Marathon Menu at the Andaz Liverpool Street

With the Olympics fast approaching London hotels are creating more sports themed packages than ever before.  The latest hotel to get in the Olympic spirit is the Andaz Liverpool Street which has created a World Food Themed Marathon.  Running from from 2nd July to 27th July the marathon sees chefs at the hotel create a different dish each day from 26 countries, a number selected due to the fact the marathon has 26 miles.

Already announced in the line-up is Great Britain’s New Age Sherry Trifle, Australian specialty Mango Pavlova and Lamingtons, Korean Spicy Pork, South African Bobotie, Hungarian Goulash and Polish Golabki.  With dishes sounding this great, this is one marathon which you won’t need much training for!  Like any winning team knows, the secret of success lies in excellent teamwork and the whole of the hotel’s staff have helped to create the international menus as the team is made up of over 40 nationalities.

Catch will be one of the hotel's restaurants serving the marathon meals

The menu will be served across the four different Andaz restaurants which include the seafood restaurant Catch which was recently reviewed on this blog, 1901 where we recently sampled afternoon tea, Eastway and Miyako.  Every day during the marathon diners will be offered one special starter, main course or dessert: why not go for gold and visit every day?  You might need to run a real marathon to burn it off!
