Four new Accor hotels for London – all in one go!
The Accor hotel group which operates a huge selection of hotels at different price points has announced that they are to open four new London properties. What’s more, all will open in October 2012 – someone has been busy! The four new hotels include a Novotel and Ibis, both located in Blackfriars, an Ibis in Shepherd’s Bush and a Mercure hotel in Greenwich. Great news for travellers looking for hotels outside the West End!

The Blackfriars hotels are both set in purpose-built buildings, while the 4 star Novotel will feature state-of-the-art technology with touch screen check-in systems. The Novotel will house 182 rooms, a media hub, restaurant, bar gym, swimming pool, sauna and seven meeting rooms.
The Ibis Blackfriars is set to be the UK flagship for the brand with 297 rooms, whilst its Shepherd’s Bush sister will have 182 rooms. Both will have free wifi and a range of restaurants and bars.

Down south in Greenwich, the new Mercure hotel is located in a converted 1930s police “section house” with 145 rooms and the all-important FREE WiFi – it seems that more budget hotels are seeing the light as luxury 5 star hotels continue to impose steep WiFi charges.
The new hotels follow recent openings in Kings Cross, Whitechapel and Croydon, bringing the London total across the group to 53 hotels with a further 12 in the pipeline. So as Travelodge takes a hiatus in its breakneck growth, it looks like Accor is getting ready to pick up the slack…
