It’s all going on at the Mandarin Oriental…

by Jules on September 21, 2012

The five-star Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Knightsbridge is not only a luxury hotel but is also home to two high-profile restaurants run by a couple of very famous chefs: Dinner by Heston which has received rave reviews for its experiential cooking and Bar Boulud, Daniel Boulud’s restaurant which serves the infamous piggy burgers!

But it seems that Bar Boulud wants to be known for more than just the burgers as the restaurant has come up with a whole host of autumn events.  They kick off with Friday night wine evenings hosted by Head Sommelier David Vareille – the highlight of which has to be  the “Dans Le Noir” night, a blind wine tasting on 16th November.  Make sure you take along those know-it-all wine connoisseurs and put them to the test!

Those who like to play cards can take advantage of the Bridge Society – weekly bridge lessons run by Bridge Guru Charlie Hunter. Charlie will teach guests various skills from Declarer play to Defence to ensure they leave with a few tricks up their sleeve.  The first session starts on 2nd October and the lessons will be held in the two private dining rooms after a group lunch. The series runs for 6 weeks and costs £190 per person.

Other events include three supper clubs themed on wine, California and Christmas, a weekly roast calender and a set of London Fashion Week cocktails.  There’s little chance of getting bored at this 5 star hotel…
