Explosive afternoon tea at Royal Horseguards.

by Jules on November 3, 2011

Warning: this afternoon tea is one you could regret!

Remember, Remember the 5th of November with a special Guy Fawkes inspired afternoon tea at the five-star Royal Horseguards hotel.

The afternoon tea is served for just one week, from 1st November to 6th November.  Where better to celebrate bonfire night than a hotel minutes away from the Houses of Parliament, where the original plot was foiled?

The Royal Horseguards is well known for its themed afternoon teas and you can always be sure of a good effort, whether it’s Christmas, Valentine’s, Mothers Day or Wimbledon.  The Bonfire Afternoon Tea features a hot chocolate shot with toasted marshmallow, TNT exploding white chocolate and chilli ganache truffles which look like small bombs complete with a fuse made from a noodle - a taste explosion of sweet and hot (pictured above) and Gunpowder tea infused macaroons.

To finish, you can indulge in roasted chestnut mini cupcakes, mini toffee apple lollies and mulled wine jelly – all served alongside some explosive sparklers in a wooden box marked explosive!  The menu is priced at £32 per person and we’d recommend booking online as it can get rather busy.
